ASPS Mentorship Program
PROPEL: Professional Resource Opportunities in PRS Education and Leadership
As part of an effort to restructure mentorship in Plastic Surgery, last year ASPS introduced a program called PROPEL (Professional Resource Opportunities in PRS Education and Leadership). Rather than a typical one-on-one approach, launch teams are created to provide greater collaboration and an enhanced mentorship experience. Teams consist of a senior plastic surgeon, junior plastic surgeon, senior plastic surgery resident and junior plastic surgery resident and are curated based on individual preferences and interests. The goal of each group is to build relationships and create a continuum of learning opportunities that reflects the vast, yet overlapping experiences between faculty members and trainees in a longitudinal fashion. This allows team members the opportunity to serve as both a mentor and a mentee in various ways.
After a successful first year, this program is expanding in order to allow more plastic surgery faculty and residents the opportunity to be part of a valuable team that can serve as a great resource for each other! Please note that if you are currently participating in the PROPEL program and would like to continue being involved in this next round, you will need to reapply!
Please use the below links to sign up as either a mentor or mentee for PROPEL. Applications must be submitted by July 5, 2021.
